We all have to do our part!

Congratulations and Keep On Showing Up!

Hooray! No King’s Day on October 18 was an unequivocal success.  Many thanks to all of you who participated and promoted the event. October’s demonstrations expanded the number of locations across the country and crowd sizes greatly exceeded those at the June 14th gathering. Protest participants were enthusiastic, joyous, and non-violent.

We now have to make sure that millions more respond to the next call for demonstrations.  WE need to grow this movement and help it be as broad as possible! To that end all of us should plan on attending as many upcoming demonstrations as possible and work as hard as we can to get others to join.  The fight is just beginning!

You can do your part by putting together a personal contact list of people you will urge to attend the next national demonstration. Most of us have many email, text and social media contacts who can be encouraged to join the next one.  If you put this list together now, you will be ready to spread the word when we send you information on the next event!

Finally, please support the key organizers who brought it all together.  It took significant resources to pull off October 18th.  MoveOn.org was the lead organization and coordinated with over 200 others. This approach is working and you can keep the momentum going by making a financial contribution!

What else?

Regular, non-violent mass demonstrations are absolutely essential, but they are only one element of an effective social movement to turn America back from the current authoritarian misrule. We believe that another critical element involves broad based economic actions such as boycotts, divestment campaigns, labor strikes and similar efforts aimed at those who support the Trump regime. And, of course, the 2026 elections will become a key field for resistance.

There is a growing sentiment that it is time to develop such an economic strategy.  But as of this writing, no well supported national group has taken the lead to organize this kind of action.  But all of us can play a role by beginning to discuss this approach within our community groups and social circles.   We should also start to consider what each of us might be willing to do.  And in turn, we will keep you posted as we learn of specific action steps that are emerging.
